This is for you that could not read in Swedish. My name is Ida and I am 26 years old. Last year I gave birth to a wonderful daughter called Hailie. My daughter is born with something that is called dysmeli in latin it means unnormal limb.
Nobody can actually say why shes born with it. Today it is 60 children born with this only in Sweden every year. No doctor can say why this is happening. It ould happend to anyone i the world, children can be born without hands, some fingers, feets, toes, arms, legs and so on. It happens so early in the pregnancy, some time they dont even see it on the ultrasound.
We were so lucky that they actually saw that our daughter was missing her right hand and half her under arm. Meaning with this blog to me is that it becomes my therapy. I can wright about things that we go through as a familiy and how we plan our future with Hailie.
I want to help other parents that have children with this, how we have been able to go through the chock and how do we move on as a normal family with her handicap. Its not easy but we try to make the best of every day we have with her, it could have been a lote worse. She could have got a brain damage or anything like that. But now she is just missing her hand and she can get professional help with that at the leading hospital here i Sweden.
I cant be more proud of her than I already are. She is making good progress in everything she does and she is not scared of anything.
I decided to make this in english to see that you can read about my family and specially our daughter. If you have any Questions its just to ask dont be afraid.
